DURHAM, N.C. (AP) RJ Barrett scored 30 points, Zion Williamson had 27 and No. 1 Duke beat No. 4 Virginia 72-70 on Saturday night to give the Cavaliers their first loss of the season.

The Blue Devils (15-2, 4-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) bounced back from an overtime loss to Syracuse that could cost them their top ranking. They avoided their first two-game losing streak at home since 2016 and proved they can win without injured point guard Tre Jones.

DeAndre Hunter scored 18 points, and Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy had 14 apiece for the Cavaliers (16-1, 4-1), who entered as the nation's last unbeaten after No. 2 Michigan was upset at Wisconsin earlier in the day.

No. 3 Vols survive upset-minded Alabama

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee did its part with a walk-off win of sorts against Alabama.

Enough for a No. 1 ranking? All the Volunteers can do now is sit and wait.

Baylor knocks off No. 8 Texas Tech

WACO, Texas (AP) Baylor freshman Jared Butler scored 14 of his 19 points after halftime and the Bears beat No. 8 Texas Tech 73-62 on Saturday, handing the Red Raiders their second loss in four days.

After Texas Tech scored 11 in a row to get within a basket, Butler hit a 3-pointer with 4 1/2 minutes left before Tech's Jarrett Culver then had a short shot roll off the rim no good. That led to Butler driving for a layup and making the free throw after getting fouled to stretch the lead back to 61-53.

No. 12 Kentucky holds off No. 14 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) Tyler Herro and the Kentucky Wildcats didn't flinch when their seemingly comfortable lead was wiped out.

Faced with a hostile crowd and No. 12 Auburn's red-hot Bryce Brown, the 14th-ranked Wildcats survived a big comeback attempt in an 82-80 win on Saturday.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) With 6 1/2 minutes left and North Carolina clinging to a one-point lead, 6-foot-9 Cameron Johnson took aim from long range over 5-foot-7 Chris Lykes.

Edwards leads Purdue over No. 25 Indiana

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) Nojel Eastern delivered at both ends of the court, much to the delight of the Purdue fans at Mackey Arena.

Eastern had 10 points, 10 rebounds and stopped star freshman guard Romeo Langford, leading the Boilermakers past No. 25 Indiana 70-55 Saturday.

Auburn C Wiley expected to miss 2 weeks

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) Auburn center Austin Wiley is out for the Kentucky game with a lower leg injury.

Auburn announced Wiley's status before the 14th-ranked Tigers faced No. 12 Kentucky on Saturday. A spokesman says the 6-foot-11, 260-pound center "is expected to miss a couple of weeks."

No. 9 Virginia Tech pulls away from Wake

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) Virginia Tech claimed it had no extra motivation following a blowout loss to No. 4 Virginia this week.

Once the ninth-ranked Hokies got going against Wake Forest on Saturday, even with foul trouble and an unusually slow pace, their play suggested otherwise.
