Warriors win without suspended Green

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Kevin Durant scored 29 points with a key jumper in the final minute, a day after a shouting episode on the bench with Draymond Green led to his teammate's suspension Tuesday, and the undermanned Golden State Warriors held off the Atlanta Hawks 110-103.

Klay Thompson added 24 points as Splash Brother Stephen Curry missed his third straight game with a strained left groin. The two-time MVP shuffled and danced as he celebrated big plays from the bench.

Taurean Prince scored 22 points, making four 3-pointers and finishing 8 for 14 from the floor in the Hawks' fifth straight loss and ninth in 10.

LeVert's injured foot won't need surgery

NEW YORK (AP) Caris LeVert's injury wasn't as bad as it looked.

The Brooklyn Nets said Tuesday their leading scorer suffered only a dislocation of his right foot and no fractures, and he could return this season.

Rockets pull away, Nuggets' skid now 4

DENVER (AP) James Harden turned a slow start into a powerful finish.

Harden scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half and the Houston Rockets pulled away to beat Denver 109-99 on Tuesday night, sending the Nuggets to a fourth straight loss.

Banged-up Cavs rout Hornets for 2nd win

CLEVELAND (AP) Jordan Clarkson scored 24 points, Tristan Thompson had 21 rebounds and 11 points, and the injury-riddled Cleveland Cavaliers won for the second time this season, beating the Charlotte Hornets 113-89 on Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers (2-11) broke a five-game losing streak. Cleveland's first win came against Atlanta on Oct. 30.

Casey making emotional return to Toronto

TORONTO (AP) Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas spent a dozen years between them developing their games under coach Dwane Casey. Valanciunas had never played for any other NBA head coach before this season.

When they welcome Casey and his Detroit Pistons back to Toronto on Wednesday night, the two longest-serving current Raptors know emotions will be running high.

Wolves moving forward without Butler

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) When Robert Covington, Dario Saric and Jerryd Bayless walked into their hotel rooms in Minnesota, they found appropriate gifts from Timberwolves All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns: winter coats.

After the overnight temperature dropped to 7 degrees, the newest members of the team by way of the Jimmy Butler trade with Philadelphia appreciated the welcome from Minnesota's best player. Butler's awkward and drawn-out departure created an icy atmosphere around the organization, but now that the deal is finally done, the Wolves have begun trying to warm the atmosphere back up.

Pistons' Kennard out at least 2 weeks

DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Pistons say injured guard Luke Kennard will continue his rehab for two more weeks while working his way back toward basketball activity.

The Pistons updated Kennard's status Tuesday. He injured his right shoulder in an Oct. 25 game against Cleveland.

Heat write county reps about naming deal

MIAMI (AP) The Miami Heat sent a letter to Miami-Dade County commissioners Tuesday, saying they want to set the record straight on what the team perceives as misconceptions about the relationship between it and the county as a new naming-rights deal looms.

The letter from Heat Business Operations President Eric Woolworth comes about three weeks after county officials exercised their right to take full control of negotiations for the next naming-rights deal for the arena where the team plays. The county chose an option to pay the Heat $2 million annually starting in 2020 and keep the rest.
